CullWell Technologies, LLC ("CullWell," "we," "us," or "our") operates the NestIQ mobile application ("NestIQ" or the "App"). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and protect your information when you use NestIQ. By using the App, you agree to the practices described in this policy.

Information We Collect

Information You Provide

• Account information: your name, email address, and password when you create an account
• Home profile data: home type, zip code, city, and any other home details you enter
• Appliance data: appliance names, types, ages, brands, and model numbers you add
• Maintenance tasks: tasks you create, complete, or schedule within the App
• Plant and yard data: plants and yard features you add to your profile
• Chat messages: messages you send to Nesty, our AI home advisor

Information Collected Automatically

• Usage data: features you use, screens you visit, and actions you take in the App
• Device information: device type, operating system version, and app version
• Crash reports: error logs and crash data to help us fix bugs
• Push notification tokens: device tokens used to deliver notifications you request

How We Use Your Information

• To create and manage your NestIQ account
• To provide personalized home maintenance recommendations through Nesty
• To send maintenance reminders and seasonal alerts you have enabled
• To improve the App and develop new features
• To respond to support requests and communications
• To detect and prevent fraud or misuse of the App
• To comply with legal obligations

AI-Powered Features (Nesty)

NestIQ includes Nesty, an AI home advisor powered by Anthropic's Claude API. When you send a message to Nesty, your message and relevant home context (appliances, tasks, location) are transmitted to Anthropic's servers to generate a response. This data is used solely to generate your response and is subject to Anthropic's Privacy Policy.

Nesty does not retain memory of past conversations beyond what is stored in your NestIQ account. Chat history is retained for 7 days and then automatically deleted.

Affiliate Links and Third Parties

NestIQ may display links to third-party products and services through affiliate programs including Amazon Associates, Modernize, HomeAdvisor, Thumbtack, and Liberty Home Guard. When you click an affiliate link, you are directed to a third-party website subject to that party's own privacy policy. We may receive a commission when you make a purchase through an affiliate link. We do not share your personal information with these third parties beyond what is necessary to process a referral.

Data Sharing

We do not sell your personal information. We share your information only in the following circumstances:

• Service providers: Firebase (Google) for authentication, database, and analytics; Anthropic for AI chat responses
• Legal requirements: when required by law, court order, or governmental authority
• Business transfers: in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, with notice provided to you
• With your consent: in any other circumstances with your explicit consent

Data Retention

We retain your account data for as long as your account is active. Chat history is automatically deleted after 7 days. If you delete your account, all associated data is permanently deleted from our systems within 30 days, except where retention is required by law.

Your Rights and Choices

• Access: you may request a copy of the personal data we hold about you
• Correction: you may update your account information at any time within the App
• Deletion: you may permanently delete your account and all associated data from Settings → Account → Delete Account within the App
• Notifications: you may opt out of push notifications at any time from Settings → Notifications or your device settings
• California residents: you have additional rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), including the right to know what data is collected and the right to opt out of sale (we do not sell data)

Children's Privacy

NestIQ is not directed at children under 13 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will promptly delete it.

Security

We use industry-standard security measures including HTTPS encryption for all data in transit and Firebase security rules to protect your data at rest. However, no method of transmission or storage is 100% secure. We encourage you to use a strong, unique password for your NestIQ account.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by posting the new policy in the App with a revised effective date. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
